District land office Receivers were responsible for all financial transactions relating to the sale and disposition of public lands. Monies received were deposited with the U.S. Treasury Office. This series consists of a register of treasury deposits made by the Montgomery Receiver. Each entry includes the date; the number of the certificate of deposit; amounts deposited for fees and commissions, sales of public lands, sales of Indian lands, reclamation fund; and the total amount deposited. This series documents the work of district land office Receivers and provides information on the financial aspects of the disposition of public lands.
